Arena de Evolución - L.O.C.K.

Welcome in the Library of Collected Knowledge – Arena de Evolución. This multi-media and interactive installation is created by Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen for the 12th Biennial of Havana and is paralleled with a scientific programme.

It is a multidisciplinary project that has been inspired by the artist’s trips to Cuba, by the yearlong collaborations with scientists but foremost by the Cosmopolitan Chicken Project. Inspired by Arena de Evolución, experts gathered at different locations and in different set-ups to discuss the topics essential to the artist’s work; Ecology and Climate, Immunity, Fertility, Ethics and Diversity. In this library the knowledge generated by this project is archived and accessible for you, the visitor.
