Dr. Alfred Weidinger is the Deputy Director of the Belvedere in Vienna. He studied art history and classical archaeology at the University of Salzburg. In his function of curator of classical modernistic art at the Belvedere, he is responsible for the organization of major exhibitions, at home and abroad. His research focuses on visual and applied art and photography of the 19th and 20th centuries. His collection also contains over three hundred shots of the revolutionary hero Che Guevara. Several books from the hand of dr. Weidinger are dedicated to this subject: Che Guevara (Weidinger, 2008) and Korda’s Kuba (Skrein and Weidinger, 2009).
